Sports Massage

Sports massage is the use of specific massage techniques to help the body prepare or recover from sporting activity. Some people have sports massage before or after a specific event, some as a regular part of their training programme. The massage is tailored to your requirements but is usually fairly firm and works deeply into areas of tension and trigger points.

Please use this service if you do not want to visit the clinic but would like to be discuss your injury or problem with a physiotherapist and be given advice and/or exercises to help with this.

Anja qualified as a Physiotherapist in Germany in 1999 before coming over to the UK in 2003 where she gained a further degree in Manual Therapy in 2004. Anja has a wide range of experience having worked in the NHS both in hospitals and outpatient departments, rehabilitation and sport centres and now private practice. She has worked abroad, in the UK, and volunteered as a Physiotherapist for 1 year in South Africa. She has developed many years experience & expertise in orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and sport injuries and has moved to Brighton Physiotherapy Clinic from many years at The Hove Clinic, formally known as Wilbury Clinic. In her spare time she loves to be creative in arts and crafts and throwing pottery .

Nella trained at the University of Southampton and qualified as a physiotherapist in 2015. She moved to the UK from Budapest in 2008.

Initially, she worked as a physiotherapy assistant in private post-op rehabilitation and convalescence care, including hydrotherapy.

Currently, Nella works in both NHS and the private sector. Her current NHS practice is fracture clinic, A&E, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, working closely with orthopaedic consultants.

Subsequently, Nella’s expertise is in musculoskeletal conditions, particularly treating acute and sub-acute injuries; and post-operative rehabilitation. She also has qualifications in Sports Massage and Taping & Strapping.

Outside of work, Nella likes playing badminton, exploring new places, and she is a big animal lover.
